On historic Route 66 in the center of downtown Chandler, with several great restaurants just a short walk away. Here’s a map of the area. Established in November 1926, "The Mother Road" comes alive with history as it celebrates its 100th anniversary this month. There's no better time for a Route 66 road trip!

Time control & format

Blitz: G/4;+2, Swiss, 6 rounds
Quick: G/15;+2, Swiss, 6 rounds
 

Schedule 

Doors open at 9 a.m. Onsite registration 9 to 9:30
Blitz games start at 10 a.m.
Rounds will be played back to back with a lunch break TBA around noon.

Prizes 🏆

Route 66 Centennial Speed Chess Championship trophies for division champions. 
No residency restrictions.
Cash prizes based on 50 entries:

In case of first-place ties in any section, unless there were decisive head-to-head results in both the blitz and the quick, a g/5 blitz match (followed by an Armageddon game, if necessary) will be played to determine the title winner.

Registration

Entry $40 by Friday, October 30. After October 30: $45.

Official US Chess blitz rules will be used for the blitz rounds. 

Quick-rated games are played according to regular US Chess rules.
