RiseNShine Friday Quads - Jan 24th

OVERVIEW

• Tournament Format: Round-Robin
• Total Rounds: 3
• Round Times: 5:30 pm and Rounds 2 & 3 on a rolling schedule
• Time Control: G/25;+5  (Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second increment at each move.)
• Games will be US Chess regular & quick-rated (so called dual-rated).
• Players will be split into groups of four (quads) based on their ratings, from the highest-rated to the lowest-rated.
• In case the last quad is not even four players, they will play a mini-3 round Swiss tournament with 5-7 players.
• Monthly supplemental OTB regular rating will be used. The Chief TD has discretion to use a player's USCF online rating (ONL) or live rating for pairing purposes in extreme cases where fairness will be preserved by doing so
• Minor roster shifts to avoid family member pairings may be possible
• No byes are available
• Forfeit time is 25 minutes

$35 on Jan 24th, Friday. Registration closes at 10 AM on Jan 24th.

Cancellations incur $5 admin fee. 

Refunds only if cancelled before 4 PM on Jan 24th.

No Refunds for no-show or cancellations after 4 PM.

PRIZES

For each quad,

- Trophy for 1st place.

- Trophy for 2nd place.

- Participation medals for all other players.

Special prizes:

- Trophy for best parent-kid pair (cumulative score and cumulative tiebreak score)

- Trophy for best siblings pair (cumulative score and cumulative tiebreak score)

REQUIREMENTS

• Players must have current US Chess Federation membership. Expiration date of their US Chess membership must be later than the last day of the tournament.
