Johnson City October Swiss

Sections: Open, U1400, and Scholastic. U1400 and Open sections may be merged depending on player count.

Time control: G/45;+5 (increment). 

Registration: 12:30-12:55 on the third floor of Mulligan's Gaming Pub. Pre-registration is not necessary, please email or text/call for questions. 

Round times: 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 pm. (Scholastic rounds will begin ASAP, with a 10-15 minute break between rounds). 

Current USCF membership required.

Boards and clocks are provided for up to 20 players.

Entry fee:

Please pay in cash on site. 

1. Open: $20
2. Under 1400: $20
3. Scholastic: $5

Prizes:

Prizes represent a sum of 80% of the entry fees for that section, rounded to nearest $5 increment. If sections are merged, the prize funds are merged as well except for unique u1400 prizes such as “Biggest Upset” and “Best Performance.” Prizes will be paid in cash. 

1. Open: 40%, 25%, 15%
2. Under 1400: 40%, 25%, 15%
3. Scholastic: Trophies/ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
