JL All-Girls Chess Tournament

SPECIAL EVENT!

On Sunday, May 29th the Westfield Chess Club will be hosting the JL All-Girls Chess Tournament.

This is a free event organized by Jessica Lee.

It is open to all school-aged girls.

There will be free refreshments, prizes and giveaways, including some chess sets.

Tournament details:
4-SS
G/20 d5
2 sections: Rated & Non-rated.
Rounds 1:00, 2:05, 3:10 & 4:15 p.m.
No entry fee.

Maximum 64 entrants.

Doors open at 11 a.m.
Please arrive by 11:15 a.m., as it takes time for the YMCA to process people & allow them upstairs.
Jessica will be giving a lecture on chess basics from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The tournament will start at 1 p.m.

Anti-COVID measures

All attendees must sign the Westfield Area Y's COVID-19 Waiver! Please do this online, at form.jotform.com/201765326627054, to avoid long lines & get the tournament started on time. If you are under age 18 a parent will have to sign for you. Everyone must also agree to the Y's Code Of Conduct.

Masking is mandatory.
No eating is permitted in the tournament room. Ask the YMCA if you may eat in the lounge.

Maximum 64 players + limited number of guests (see below).
No walk-in players or unexpected visitors allowed!

Guest limits for players:
Adults: No guests allowed.
Age 10-17: 1 guardian permitted.
Under age 10: 1 guardian required.
Westfield YMCA members: No guest limitations.

All players & guests will be limited to areas designated for chess. Normally, this will be in the Kellogg rooms, 201-202 & the Glasser lounge. If the above are unavailable, chess will be in rooms 107-108 with 109 serving as the lounge.

The Westfield CC requires that you wear a mask (Bring your own. We are not supplying them.) in the tournament room & reserves the right to eject or refuse those who are non-compliant.
