ICA FIDE Championship

This is a two-day dual FIDE and USCF-rated tournament. 

Registration Fee: $120.  Early bird!  Register by July 4, 11:59 pm for just $100.

For full refund, canceled registrations must be requested by e-mail by 11:59 pm the night before the tournament.

Format: 4 round Swiss-System (two rounds per day).  G110 d10.  Pairings based on FIDE ratings.

Minimum rating: A monthly published rating of 1600 USCF or 1500 FIDE

All players must have a valid FIDE ID.  Players may request a USA-flagged FIDE ID at this URL: https://tinyurl.com/nebafd36.  Players wishing a non-USA flagged FIDE ID must contact the relevant country’s chess federation.

Schedule: Saturday 11:00 am, 3:30 pm.  Sunday 1:00 pm, 5:30 pm.

Prizes:  Prize distribution will follow standard USCF rules.

3rd - $240
Under 2200 (FIDE) - $180
Under 2000 (FIDE) - $180
Under 1800 (FIDE) - $180
Under age 13 - $180
Over age 55 - $180

Byes: Two half-point byes available for any round.  Half-point byes must be requested before the start of round two. Byes must be requested 15 minutes before the start of each round.

On-site registration is open from 10:00 am to 10:30 on the day of the tournament.

Equipment: All participants must bring clocks.

Norms: FIDE norms are not available at this event.

Late arrivals: Late arrivals will be handled as per USCF rules

Parents and caregivers: There is waiting space for parents and caregivers where they can keep an eye on young players.

Parking:  Please enter via parking lot entrance on Hamilton Avenue.  After parking, please enter through the door that has an “International Chess Academy” sign then proceed to the second floor.

By train:  Glen Rock has two NJ Transit stations within easy walking distance of ICA: Glen Rock - Main Line and Glen Rock - Boro Hall.

By bus: Take 164, 164B, 164E, or 175B to Rock Road at Central Avenue.  All stop directly in front of ICA.
