Event: Hamden Chess Club - October Scholastic Quads (USCF rated; Grades K-12)
Date:Saturday, October 23, 2021
Time: 9:30am  (Check in at 9:15am;  event is expected to go until approximately 12:30pm)
Format: Quads (3RR); players organized in groups of four by rating,  as well as grade for unrated participants.  Depending on the exact number of registrations, the bottom section may have five six or seven players, in which case that section will be paired as a Swiss tournament. 
Time Control: G/25, d5 (Each player has 25 min to make their moves, with a delay of 5 seconds for each move)
Prizes: Trophy for winner of each Quad; other players in each quad will receive a chess medal.  If a Swiss is needed for the bottom section, then that section will also have a trophy for 2nd place.
Equipment:  All chess sets and clocks will be provided
Masks:  Masks are required
Spectators:  No spectators will be allowed while tournament games are being played.  Parents and others are welcome to frequent local establishments:  bookstore, coffee shop, restaurants, within easy walking distance
Electronics: Any cell phones must be turned off.
Notation:  Electronic notation devices will not be allowed for this tournament.  Grade four and above should expect to notate their games.  
Byes:  No byes available since this a three-round quad tournament.   Participants are expected to play each round
