Entry Fee & Prize

• FCS members: $10
• Non-members: $14
• Prize: $25 guaranteed 1st-place prize with 6+ paid players.
• The guarantee applies only when 6 or more paid players register.
• If fewer than 6 paid players register, the $25 cash prize is not guaranteed.

Registration & Eligibility

• Preregistration and online payment are required.
• No on-site registration.
• Joining the Lichess Team does not replace FCS registration.
• Only paid and authorized entrants are approved.
• Players must use the same Lichess account supplied during registration.

How to Play

1. Register and pay through FCS.
2. Enter your correct Lichess username during registration.
3. Request to join the designated Lichess Team.
4. FCS verifies registration and approves eligible Team requests.
5. Join the Swiss tournament in advance.
6. Sign in before 6:00 PM Eastern.
7. Remain on the tournament page between rounds; Lichess handles pairings and games automatically.

Lichess Account Requirements

• Account history: The Lichess account must be at least 60 days old, have 30+ rated Blitz games, and have an established Blitz rating with no provisional “?”.
• Event account: Players must register and play with the same Lichess account and join the designated FCS Lichess Team before the event.
• Good standing: The account must be open and in good standing on tournament day and remain so for seven days afterward.
• Results hold: FCS will hold official results and any eligible prize payout for seven days after the event.
• Disqualification: If the account is closed, voluntarily closed, restricted, banned, or marked for a Lichess Terms-of-Service violation at the end of the seven-day review, the player’s results will be rejected and no prize will be paid.
• No FCS investigation: FCS will not independently investigate cheating; eligibility is based on the account’s Lichess standing at the end of the review period.

Rating, Results & Review

• This event affects the player’s US Chess Online Blitz rating, not an over-the-board Blitz rating.
• A current US Chess membership is required.
• Players are responsible for signing into the correct registered Lichess account.
