Led by FIDE Master Carl Boor, three-time state champion, among the top 50 U.S. blitz players. Assisted by Kelly Boor, the top-rated female online action player in the U.S.

Part 1: The Chess Guild (lecture & workshop)

5:00 – 6:00 PM. A course for total beginners and improving players of every age. Each week has a lesson and workshop, then time to play.

• Nov 4 – Capablanca Endgames
• Nov 11 – Magnus Method + Review

Part 2: Club & Ladder (rated games)

6:00 – 7:30 PM. 6 rounds, one game each Wednesday. Play every week or drop in when you can.

• Time control: G/30 d5 (dual rated)
• Rating: Games between US Chess members are rated. Everyone else is welcome to play unrated.
• After each game there's time to go over it with a master.

Entry Fee: Pay Per Evening

You pay only for the nights you come. No commitment. Pay at the door each Wednesday.

• Class only (5–6 PM): $15 per evening
• Ladder only (6–7:30 PM): $10 per evening
• Both, the full evening (5–7:30 PM): $20 per evening

Or save with the Season Pass: all six Wednesdays, class and ladder, for $100 prepaid. That's one night free (6 × $20 = $120).

Discounts available on a limited basis for students on free or reduced lunch. Just ask.

Prizes

$240 based on 12 players: 1st $110 · 2nd $70 · Top Unrated $60. Awarded on total ladder points over the six weeks; the fund grows with entries. Trophies and awards at the ceremony on the final night, Nov 11.
