Experience focused competition in our Cash Day Quads! This three-round event with a time control of G/60 d5 is ideal for players seeking intense, rating-based matchups! Participants are grouped into quads based on their USCF ratings, providing a level playing field and opportunities for cash prizes.

  • Online registration closes at 12:00 a.m. the day of the tournament, or when maximum capacity is reached.
  • Onsite registration is subject to availability (additional fee incurred).
  • Late fees ($20) may be applied a day before tournament or when reaching capacity.

Schedule

  • Time Control: 3RR G/60 d5
  • Round Times: 9:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m.

Sections

  • Players will be placed into groups of 4 based on the published USChess rating supplement.

Prizes

  • Prize Fund: 1st place $70, 2nd place $60 per quad.
  • Regular entry winners get full prize, Econ entry winners get 50% prize.
  • Unrated winners: Max $60
  • A player who withdraws during the tournament is NOT eligible for prize money.
  • Prizes will be paid out by check (mail), PayPal or Zelle.

  • Regular entry: $59
  • Econ entry: $44

  • Onsite fee: +$23
  • Membership discounts are not redeemable onsite.

Withdrawals

  • Withdrawals are eligible for a partial refund, subject to a 7% processing fee.
  • Only withdrawals made before the tournament day are eligible for refund.

Change requests

  • After registration, changes can be requested at bayareachess.com/changeform and are subject to a $7 change fee.
  • The following request is exempt from the change fee:
    • requesting byes.

Other requirements

  • USCF membership must be active.
