This is a US Chess rated Swiss style tournament. There are six different sections for players depending on their age and skill. Sections include K-3 Beginner (U-400), 4-8 Beginner (U-400), 9-12 Beginner/Intermediate (U-1000), K-8 Intermediate (401-700), K-8 Advanced (701-1000), and K-12 Championship (1000+). Participants play only against opponents in their own section. The first round is at 10:00am for all sections. The tournament concludes around 4:00pm with an awards ceremony where the top players and top school receive trophies.
* All sections are non-elimination, and all players participate in all five rounds
* We provide FREE US Chess Federation memberships for all participants, a $17 value!
* For players using chess clocks, the time control is G/25 with a 5-second time delay
* Prices increase by $15 the Tuesday before the tournament.
