53st ANNUAL WV SCHOLASTIC CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS
To be held on March 16, 2024 at the
Harrison County Senior Center, Clarksburg, West Virginia
UNEXPIRED USCF MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED TO REGISTER.
Team and individual trophies.
SECTIONS:
PR (K-3) EL (K-5) MS (K-8) HS (K-12)
TL: PR&EL G/30 d/5 MS&HS G/45 d/5 delay clock preferred
Team score is top 4 scores of team players. All players on team must be from same school. Maximum players on a team is 8. If a school has more than 8 players they can form a team of 8 and another team of 1-8 players.
Number of Rounds depends upon number of entries for each section and will be posted on www.wvsca.com after Registration ends on March 15.
o Top WV K-12 Champion – Nominee to Denker Tournament of K-12 State Champions.
o Top WV K-8 Champion – Nominee to Barber Tournament of K-8 Champions.
o Top WV K-5 Champion – Nominee to Rockefeller Tournament of K-5 Champions
o Top WV Female Player – Nominee to Haring Girls Invitational Tournament.

WHAT TO BRING TO TOURNAMENT: chess clock, and pen or pencil. MS and HS Sections are required to record moves or 2 Minutes will be deducted from total time - USCF Requirement (Rule 15a1).
CHECK-IN: 7:45-8:30am Saturday to be paired in first round. Check-in immediately upon entering building. Coach can check-in whole team.

WVCA Jr. Membership required to be eligible for Denker, Barber, Rockefeller & Haring Individuals. Entry fees:
$25 until March 15, 2024; $30 there after CHECKS ONLY, made out to WVSCA
