PRIZE FUND: $500 based on 30 Rated Players.
Sponsoring U.S.C.F. Affiliate: The Western Massachusetts Chess Association
U.S. Chess Federation Membership is required and available at the tournament.
FORMAT: 4 Games Swiss System (No elimination). Time Control G/55; d5
Depending on the turnout, the draw may be split into sections or accelerated pairings may be used.
BYES: Limit of one 1/2-point bye, available for any missed round, specified with entry.
CHESS SETS, and CHESS CLOCKS will be provided. However, if you have a set you would rather use, you may substitute your equipment for any round with the approval of the player of the black pieces for that pairing.
ADVANCE ENTRY FEES (All must be postmarked by November 28th): Rated players $25, New and unrated players, FREE with advance registration.
AT SITE ENTRY FEE: Rated players $30, New and unrated players, $5
W.M.C.A. MEMBER DISCOUNTS: $5 off
WMCA MEMBERSHIP: $15 per year (NOT required). It includes the WMCA Free tournament and $5 off at all other tournaments.
AT SITE REGISTRATION: Saturday 8:30am - 9:00am
ROUND TIMES: 9:30am, 12:30pm, 2:45pm, 5:00pm
