Joshua has been an active tournament player since he was 12 years old. He has achieved a 2100+ rating.

He loves chess because of its unforgiving nature and because it makes you think outside of the box. Critical moments are faced when critical decisions must be made and one bad move can nullify all of the good ones.

Outside of chess, he enjoys traveling (he has been to over 10 countries), working out, attending baseball games, festivals, and concerts. One of his fondest travel memories was visiting Amsterdam in 2019 and seeing the Max Euwe Chess Club. Being in the presence of such chess history was an incredible memory he’ll never forget.

Joshua’s favorite chess quote is “I don’t believe in psychology, I believe in good moves.” (Bobby Fischer)

Joshua earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UNC Greensboro in Kinesiology.
