Volunteers Wanted for SuperNationals VIII

US Chess is seeking volunteers to assist at SuperNationals VIII from May 8-11 in Orlando, Florida. If you’re a local chess enthusiast, seeking national event experience, or an attendee with a few hours to spare, we could use your help!

Volunteers must:

Be over 18
Complete the free SafeSport Volunteer training course (if not already SafeSport certified)
Pass a background check
US Chess membership a plus!

Special Guests Announced for SuperNationals VIII

Special Guest GM Leinier Dominguez highlights the list of guest grandmasters appearing at SuperNationals VIII. Other guests include GM Awonder Liang, IM/WGM Carissa Yip, WGM Tatev Abrahamyan, and GM Elshan Moradiabadi.

More information about these guests will be made available here. All weekend, there will be opportunities to attend lectures, simuls, and play blitz against these guests, as detailed on the daily schedule page.

Register by Monday, 4/28 for $225 Rate

As of April 15, the entry fee for all sections of SuperNationals VIII is $225. This rate is valid through April 28, and increases to $350 after.

Registration is no longer accepted by mail, and there are no on site entries.

100% refund of the entry fee if notified by email to nationalevents@uschess.org or in person at Chess Control by 11am Friday. No refunds after that time.

Early Registration and Hotel Discounts

US Chess has secured discounted hotel rates at four properties directly connected to the Orange County Convention Center: Hyatt Regency Orlando, Hilton Orlando, Rosen Centre, and Rosen Plaza.

Rates at the Rosen Plaza and Hilton Orlando are only guaranteed through Monday, April 14.

Rosen Centre will give the tournament rate until the hotel sells out.

Note: once tournament rate availability is gone, hotels will revert to their regular prices — often double the discounted rate.

Planning to arrive early or stay late? Act fast! Discounted rooms for May 7, 8, and 12 are especially limited.

To book your hotel, visit the SuperNationals VIII website and find the reservation links near the top of the page. Be sure to review the details for each hotel carefully before booking.

$150 entry fee expires April 14!

The $150 entry fee is available through Monday, April 14. After that, the fee increases to $225!

To register, visit the SuperNationals VIII website and click the “Register Online” link (in bold red text).
Once registered, use the “Advance Entries” link directly below to confirm your entry has been received. Contact Click here to show email address with any issues regarding your entries.

Keep in mind, US Chess offers a full refund of the entry fee if you withdraw by 11:00 AM ET on Friday, May 9. Just let us know before the deadline!
