DAILY QUADS

Dates: Monday, July 28 / Wednesday, July 30 / Thursday, July 31 / Friday, Aug 1 (Four separate one-day events)
Entry fee: $20
Registration: Onsite, 9:30-11:30 a.m. each day
Round times: G/30;d5. Rounds at noon, 1:30 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. $50 to first in each quad.
Time control: Game in 30 minutes with a five-second delay
Prizes: $50 to first in each quad

 

U.S. OPEN QUAD

Date: Tuesday, July 28
Entry fee: $20
Registration: Onsite, 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Round times: Rounds at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.
Time control: Game in 60 minutes with a five-second delay
Prizes: $50 to first in each quad.

 

NATIONAL G/15 CHAMPIONSHIP

Date: Wednesday, July 30
Entry fee: $40
Registration: Onsite, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Round times: Five rounds: 12:00 p.m., then 1, 2, 3, and 4 p.m.
Time control: Game in 15 minutes with a five-second delay
Prizes: 80% of entries as returned as cash prizes. 1st 30%, 2nd 15%, U2100 12%, U1800 10%, U1500/Unrated 8%, U1200 5%

 

U.S. OPEN NATIONAL BLITZ CHAMPIONSHIP

Date: Saturday, August 2
Entry fee: $40, free to Unrated players if paying US Chess due
Registration: Onsite, 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Round times: Round 1 begins at 12:00 p.m., with subsequent rounds to follow ASAP
Format: 7 Double Round (14 games) Swiss System, in one section
More information: US Chess blitz-rated, higher of Regular or Blitz US Chess rating used for pairings and prizes
Time control: Game in five minutes with no delay or increment.
$2000 Guaranteed Prizes!: Top 3 $400-200-150, U2200 $200-100, U2000 $200-100, U1800 $180-90, U1600/Unrated $140-70, U1400 $100, U1200 $70

WEEKEND SWISS

Dates: Saturday, August 2 – Sunday, August 3
Entry fee: $40, Unrated players free if paying US Chess dues (Unrated must register on site if desiring this option.) 
Registration: Online and onsite from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday
Round times: Rounds 1-2 at noon & 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Rounds 3-5 at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Format: 5 Round Swiss System, in one section
Time control: Game in 60 minutes with a five-second delay
$1,150 Guaranteed Prizes: Top 3 200-100-50, U2200/Unrated $160, U2000 $150, U1800 $140, U1600 $120, U1400 $100, U1200 $80, Unrated $50

U.S. OPEN NATIONAL SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIP

Open to all US Chess members entering Grade 12 and below [including new members].

Dates: Sunday, August 3
Registration: Online, by mail if postmarked by July 7, and onsite until August 3 at 8:30 a.m. CDT
Entry Fee: $40 by August 2 (online), or $45 by mail if postmarked by July 7. Do not mail after July 7. 
Onsite entry: $50, register by Sunday, August 3 at 8:30 a.m. CDT. 
Round times: Rounds at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:30 p.m., with Awards Ceremony at 3:00 p.m.
Format: 4 Round Swiss System in four sections (see below)
Time control: Game in 30 minutes with a five-second delay
Prizes: Trophies to the Top 3 in each section. The number of trophies may increase based on the number of entries.
 

Section Eligibility: 

  • High School - Middle School Championship
    • Open to players entering Kindergarten through the 12th Grade in the fall.
    • Open to all ratings.
  • High School - Middle School Under 1200
    • Open to players entering Kindergarten through the 12th Grade in the fall.
    • Open to players rated below 1200. No Unrateds!
  • Elementary Championship
    • Open to players entering Kindergarten through the 6th Grade in the fall.
    • Open to all ratings.
  • Elementary Under 1000
    • Open to players entering Kindergarten through the 6th Grade in the fall.
    • Open to players rated below 1000. No Unrateds!.
