Things to Do in Spokane

- Riverfront Park (507 N Howard St)
The 1974 World’s Fair transformed Spokane’s downtown from an old railyard into the vibrant Riverfront Park which is now the heart of the city. Explore the largest urban waterfall in the country, the Looff Carrousel (built in 1909), public art, a skating rink, and scenic river views.
- Garbage-Eating Goat (Riverfront Park)
Deserving of its own bullet point, this quirky 1974 art installation still “eating” trash is an eco-friendly legacy of the World’s Fair. It is a landmark celebrating sustainability which was way ahead of its time and still keeps the park clean today.
- Monroe Street Bridge & Spokane Falls
View the roaring falls from this historic bridge for a perfect winter photo opportunity.
- Spokane Hobbit House & Little Free Library (3525 W 2nd Ave)
A whimsical stop for book lovers and photographers there is a Tolkien-inspired Hobbit house called "Spokane End", built by Ryan Oelrich. It's a smaller, 70-square-foot version of Bilbo Baggins's home, Bag End. The house is a popular attraction in Spokane, and Oelrich often hosts events and book drives, sometimes even inviting visitors inside for a look around.
