Badging

Badging Information

  • US Chess will issue badges to all participants. Badges will be required to enter the defined playing area.  
  • The Playing Area will be defined as the Playing Hall and halls and walkways near the primary exits.
  • All attendees, upon arrival, should pick up their badges at the Chess Control help desk or otherwise designated Badge Pick-Up location.  Badges may be picked up as early as Thursday morning of the event weekend.  Badge pick-up is a quick process, but please expect a crowd just before the start of Opening Ceremonies (Friday morning of the event weekend).
  • Teams may be able to arrange for a group pick-up.  Please contact the National Events office to inquire about large groups.
  • All players will be issued the following as part of their registration for the tournament with no charge:
    • One Player badge
    • One Accompanying Person badge
  • Badges grant access to the playing area and must be worn at all time in the playing area.
  • Additional Accompanying Persons Badges
    • All participants have the option to purchase Additional Accompanying Person badges with their registration.
    • Each additional Accompanying Person badge is $20.00.
    • Lost Accompanying Person badges will incur a $20 fee for replacement.

  • Who needs Accompanying Persons Badges?
    • Players and anyone over the age of 18 who wishes to enter the playing area will need an Accompanying Person badge.
    • Minors who are not players accompanied by a badged person do not need additional badges.
