Springfield Open

October 3, 2025 – National Master Bob Holliman will be at the Springfield, MO. Chess Club on Friday night to deliver a lecture on how to make plans in chess. Entry is $5. It will start around 7:30 PM. Please email in advance as space is limited.

October 4 and 5, 2025 – The Springfield Open

$30 entry by September 25, $45 after. Scholastic players can enter for rating only for $15 or pay full entry and be eligible for prizes.

5-round Swiss. G/90;d5. Open section and under 1400 section. If sections are combined for pairings, U1400 prizes will still be given out.

Saturday Rounds: 10:30 AM, 2:15 PM, 5:30 PM
Sunday Rounds: 10:30 AM, 2:15 PM (Or earlier if players agree.)

Prizes: Open – First $200 (Guaranteed), Second $150, Third $100.
U1400 – First $150, Second $100, Third $75.
First place prize in the open is guaranteed. All other prizes are based on 30 full-paid entries.

One half-point bye if claimed before round 3. No prizes for players who withdraw. US Chess Federation membership must be current before the start of round 1.
