NTCA is proud to be the first to bring RATED games to your home. We began during the challenging 2020 Covid Epidemic and wanted to offer an option to play tournaments online so players can keep practicing and engage with their friends.

On Sundays at 2pm we are offering a five round rated tournament played on chess.com. Time control will be 15 minutes with a 2 second increment. This will only change your US Chess ONLINE Quick rating, not your regular over the board rating. 

Prizes (paid in NTCA ChessBucks): 
1st - $25 
2nd - $15
1st U1400 (Regular US Chess rating) - $15

Chess.com has strict anti-cheating detection programs in place and will be scrutinizing these rated events even more. Please report any player you believe to have been using computer assistance. NTCA has no input on these decisions, it is only the decision of chess.com.  Any player that has been found to be likely cheating will be banned from chess.com and possibly face punishments from US Chess as well. 

Players must have a current US Chess membership. 
Players must have a chess.com account.
Players must disclose their US Chess ID# and chess username when registering. 
Any players not paying the entry fee will be removed from the event.
