From Today in Chess to the Daily Show: Grandmaster Ashley to Appear on Trevor Noah

Grandmaster Maurice Ashley will appear on the Trevor Noah show on Wednesday, November 14th, to talk about chess and the Carlsen-Caruana match currently underway in London. Ashley is now in Saint Louis filming the Today in Chess show with Jennifer Shahade and Yasser Seirawan, and will be flying to New York City during a rest day to film the segment. GM Ashley told US Chess, "I’ve been an admirer of Trevor Noah for a long time, and especially after reading his brilliant book Born a Crime. To have gone through all the challenges he has in life and have such a positive success-minded outlook is simply inspiring. I look forward to the fun I’m going to have being a part of his show." Today in Chess, which is filmed in Studio in the U.S. capital of Chess in Saint Louis will now be extended to start at 9 AM local, 10 AM ET for the duration of the Carlsen-Caruana match.
