US Chess has gone to Disney World as the Main Event of the K-12 Chess Championships is underway in Buena Vista, Florida (live games here!). On Thursday, December 7th, Maximillian Lu (Connecticut), formerly the youngest US Chess Master in history, took down the K-6 Blitz with 11.5/12.   Matthew James Stevens (Illinois) won the K-12 Blitz, also with a resounding 11.5/12. Akhil Kalghatgi and Nikhil Kalghatgi, twins from Illinois, took top bughouse honors with a perfect score. The twins have won multiple US Chess bughouse titles and are certainly ones to watch in the Main Event as well, both over 2100 and ranked 4th and 8th going into the event.
