Invitational Requirements for US Chess Events

The US Chess office would like to remind members of the Invitational Requirements for selection to various national and international events, including the U.S. Championships, World Olympiad, World Team Championships, and the World Senior Team Championship. Information regarding the qualification for these events can be found at http://www.uschess.org/content/view/11958/689/. There is new language regarding the World Senior Team Championship, specifically: “For the World Senior Team Championships, the top five players who qualify by age (as of December 31 of the competition year) for the Open 50+ competition and accept their invitations are designated the official team, and will receive any stipend designated by the Executive Board to offset their costs.  There will be no separate Team Captain or Coaches designated for the World Senior Team Championships.  The highest rated player on the team will be designated Team Captain, unless the players choose otherwise.” Questions: please contact Grant Oen, US Chess FIDE Events Manager, Click here to show email address and Boyd Reed, US Chess Director of Events, Click here to show email address
