Vyom Vidyarthi and Abinav Rajiv Mundayat are the only two players at 5.5/6, and so their final round matchup might well determine the Championship. Vidyarthi has White. The Speyer Legacy School (NY) holds a half-point lead over Mission San Jose Elementary (CA) in the Team Standings, 17.0 to 16.5. Success Academy Hudson Yards (NY) is in third at 16.0. Cooper Ho is the only remaining K-5 player with a perfect 6-0, and he meets Doruk Emir, who is alone in second place with 5.5/6. They meet in the final round, with Ho taking the Black pieces. Perennial powerhouse Dalton (NY) is tied with Joseph A. Williams Elementary (FL) in the K-5 Team competition. Both have a team score of 17.5 points. PS 33 Chelsea Prep (NY) is in a distant third place with 13.5 team points. A win would be a fitting send-off for longtime Dalton coach David MacEnulty, a former recipient of the US Chess Scholastic Service Award. He retires on June 1st. https://twitter.com/USChess/status/1127659094033207296 Will his team give him the going-away present he so desires? Check back in with CLO later tonight to find out! K-3 Championship

With a three-way tie for first, everything is still up for grabs in the K-3. Anjaneya Rao (5.5/6) has White against Omya Vidyarthi (5.5/6) on board one, while Niklas Vemparala (5.5/6) meets Alex Zhang (5.0/6) on board two. The Speyer Legacy School (NY) leads PS 77 – Lower Lab School (NY) by just half a point (15.0 to 14.5) in the K-3 Team standings. Dalton (NY) is in third place with 14.0 points. K-1 Championship

Kyle Yiwen Wang is also at 5.5/6, and he plays Connor Junda Wang, who is at the top of the 5.0 score group. Hunter College Campus School (NY) holds a one point lead over Dalton (NY) in the K-1 Team competition, 17.0-16.0.
