Chess Weekend and the Mechanics' Institute would like to invite your scholastic players and your team to participate in the 2021 US Junior Chess Congress Online the weekend of April 10-11, 2021. This USCF National Scholastic Championship event will be held online on Chess.com. Sections are age-based, and the event will be USCF online rated. To see the number of rounds, dates for each section and time controls, please follow this link to the general event page here.
This event will be a grand celebration of chess, showcasing the power of chess in bringing communities and kids together. This tournament is suitable for players of all skill levels, with prizes for both individuals AND teams. We encourage chess clubs across the nation to gather their players and enter this tournament: A minimum of 2 students are needed to form a team, and the top 3 players' scores count towards the team score. Both school teams and club teams are eligible to compete for team prizes!
The event will be live streamed with commentary from 3-time US Champion GM Nick de Firmian and FM Paul Whitehead on this Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/mechanicschess. We also plan a blitz side event and a chesskid.com side event with prizes for younger players who are more comfortable on chesskid.com.
Save the Date and Register your player and/or team by March 15 to take advantage of the early bird discount. You may do so by following this link: https://www.kingregistration.com/event/USJCC2021
