NOTE ABOUT VENUE:
Instead of being at the Tysons Corner Westin where we used to have our tournaments, and instead of being at the Tysons Corner Hilton Garden Inn where we now have our Sunday tournaments, this tournament will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott Tysons McLean hotel on 1960 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean, VA 22102.
The Courtyard Marriott has a garage with free parking (and there may be some spots available in front of the hotel as well). The tournament will probably take place upstairs in the Fairfax Room unless the hotel later decides to move us to a different room.
Overview
Saturday, February 4th at 11:30 am
Three round Swiss; first round at 11:30 am, subsequent rounds occur as soon as possible
Two sections: Open and Under 1600
Time control: Game in 60 minutes with a 5-second increment
Entry fee: $30 by Tuesday 1/31, $35 by Friday 2/3, $40 on the day of the tournament (on-site registration closes 15 minutes before round 1)
Masks are optional
Boards and pieces will be provided for all players, but we don’t have enough clocks for everyone (please bring a clock if you have one)
This tournament is USCF-rated
Prizes: $100 for 1st in open section; $50 for 1st in U1600 section
