Chess at the Park Scholastic Chess Tournament 2025

Tournament Director: Gene Nix

Location: Hampton Park Christian School, 875 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609. Guests should park in the lower parking lot (near the playground). Check-in will be in the A building.

Sections:

• Non-rated casual section (for beginner chess players: no USCF membership required)
• Rated section (USCF membership required)

Section assignments may be adjusted based on number of participants.

Entry Fee - Rated Sections: $25 if registered by December 5 at 3:00 p.m.
Entry Fee - Nonrated Section: $20 if registered by December 5 at 3:00 p.m.

Same day registration available at the door (pay by check) for an additional $5

**USCF membership required for rated sections. Memberships may be purchased or renewed at https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess.

Format: 4 rounds, G/25 d5, Swiss System – no one is eliminated, but byes may occur.
Players may request a bye in advance for 1/2 point for one round.

Prizes: Trophies to the top four in each rated section. Medals to the top four in the non-rated section.

Check-in: 9:00 - 9:25 am

Players not registered by 9:00 a.m. will not be paired for Round 1 but may rejoin remaining rounds.

Round 1 - 9:45 – 10:45
Round 2 - 10:45- 11:45
**LUNCH - 11:45 – 12:45 ** Concessions will be available in the Y building from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Round 3 - 12:45 – 1:45
Round 4 - 1:45 – 3:00
